CFR Community – Instructor
The CFR Community Instructor course trains you to deliver Cardiac First Response to PHECC standards, covering course framework, teaching materials, education and training standards, inclusive learning, feedback/remediation, and manikin hygiene. It combines two classroom days with three supervised sessions (assisting on courses, supervised delivery, and final instructor assessments) so you can teach candidates to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies using basic life support. Open to learners 18+ with CFR certification in the last 12 months, it uses lectures, hands-on demos, scenarios, and discussions, and awards a two-year instructor certification.

This course involves two classroom days followed by three supervised training sessions which include:
- Assisting an Instructor on Courses
- Being supervised by an instructor delivering of a course
- Completing Final Instructor Assessments.
Have an understanding of the Prehospital Emergence Care Council and an Approved Training Institute.
Describe and carryout the role of an Instructor.
Have an in-depth knowledge of the Cardiac First Response Course and be able to deliver this course as per the PHECC Education and Training Standards and Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Train potential CFR-C candidates to:
- Recognise the signs of a life threatening emergency.
- Respond in an effective, safe and appropriate manner, to a life threatening emergency, utilising basic life support skills
Whould should attend this training:
a) The minimum age for entry to a CFR Community instructor course is 18.
b) Certification in CFR within the last 12 months.
